Dr. Brittany Anderson Joins Alabama School of Healthcare Sciences Board of Trustees

Congratulations to AAFP President Dr. Brittany Anderson who has been appointed to the Alabama School of Healthcare Sciences Board of Trustees. This appointment, announced by Alabama Governor Kay Ivey, places Dr. Anderson among the esteemed group of professionals tasked with guiding the state’s health care sciences educational framework.

“As one of my appointees, you will be making important decisions that directly affect the citizens of Alabama,” said Gov. Ivey. “I have made honesty and integrity a priority in my Administration, and I know that you will embody these two virtues while serving the people of Alabama.”

Dr. Anderson, a respected figure within the health care community, has dedicated her career to the advancement of primary care and the pursuit of health equity. Her role as AAFP President will allow her to influence health care policy and advocate for the critical role of primary care in the Alabama health care system.

She will serve in an At-Large seat as a resident of Marengo County and her term, which officially begins immediately, is set to extend until July 31, 2030.
