Governor Ivey Appoints Dr. Brittney Anderson to CON Review Board
Governor Kay Ivey has appointed Brittney Anderson, MD, FAAFP, to the state’s Certificate of Need (CON) Review Board, which reviews proposed medical facility expansions and healthcare resource allocation across Alabama.
Dr. Anderson is a family physician at Anderson Family Care in Demopolis. She currently serves as Vice Speaker of the Medical Association of the State of Alabama and is a past president of the Alabama Academy of Family Physicians. She also sits on the Board of Trustees of the Alabama School of Healthcare Sciences, a new Demopolis-based school preparing students for health care careers, to which Governor Ivey appointed her in 2024.
Her appointment brings a practicing rural physician’s perspective to a board that helps shape where and how health care services expand across the state.
